Writing Prompts

Vomit fast rambles onto the page. It counts as work.

Know Thyself.

Every person has a conflicting worldview.

If you can define what makes your worldview yours, it will be easier and easier to see how other people differ from you. And that makes it easier to write characters who are different from one another.

Write characters who are different from one another, and they will never be at perfect equilibrium, so they will always have to grapple with their opposing priorities, and that makes story writing take care of itself.

When two characters agree, one of them is unnecessary, and if you know your own mind, you will start to see how every person is necessary — by realizing how much righter you are then all of them!

But seriously, every character thinks that if more people did things their way, the world would not have problems. Know which problems you gravitate to, so that you can give each character the same special treatment you allow your own point of view.

About This Site

Our stories can be better.

Tired of squabbling characters and poorly written video games, I dedicated my life to understanding the key to compelling conversations.
